In the beginning, the clock tower was referred as The Clock Tower. As Dubai grew, it was called as Dubai Clock Tower and eventually named as Deira Clock Tower.
It is one of the prominent tourists attractions in Dubai. It is a monument designed around 1964 in the newly built roundabout/intersection of Umm Hurrair Road and Al Maktoum Road. The clock tower location was originally the only entry point for visitors arriving in Dubai.
History says Mr. Otto Bulart designed the clock tower, the structural calculation was made by Engr. Ziki Homsi and built by the local builder.
Deira Clock Tower is listed as among the seventeen most beautiful clock towers in the world.
