Dubai Museum is the main museum in Dubai, UAE, built in 1787 and considered as the oldest existing building in Dubai.
It is an entertaining museum which combines the city’s past and present illustrations by displaying various life-size dioramas and archaeological exhibits. There are also illustrations of fishermen who first settled the banks of Creek, the desert Bedouins who roamed the place, date farmers who irrigated the land, to name a few. Also, a display of traditional home can be seen here, that reveals the life of Emiratis in the ancient time.
Located in Al Fahidi Fort, the Museum can be reached either walk along Al Fahidi Street through the backstreets of Bastakia or from Bur Dubai Souq.
It is open Saturday–Thursday at 8:30 AM-7:30 PM, and Friday at 2 PM-7:30 PM.
